Our
Youth Groups will be foregoing food for 30 HOURS! You read that right… and yet, they’ll only get a slight
understanding of what real hunger is. They’re lucky to know that after 30 hours, there will be a feast of hot
delicious food waiting for them. They’re raising money to feed those who are not lucky enough to know when their
next meal might come. Please consider supporting one or more of our youth (receipt provided for tax purposes),
or donate online at: http://support.worldvision.org/site/TR/30HourFamine/30HourFamine?team_id=50016&pg=team&fr_id=2020

* Keith Satterlee led the group from Silver
Sands to Charles Island on 7/31/11. He shared some history of the island and
surprised us with special guests, Clay and Lori, who told great stories. The
kids took some garbage off the
island and threw it away, leaving the area cleaner than they found it. We
also collected sea glass on our adventure, and ended with a visit to the ice cream truck.
* Do
you have
a special hobby, interest or talent you could share with the youth group? Anything
you could bring to our group would be appreciated. We would like the congregation
to actively participate with the youth. We are also very interested in providing
community service. If there
is any need that our group could lend a hand in helping, please let us know. The
three co-leaders were Patty Bowman, Chris Beaudry, and Keith Satterlee.
In June, 2010 we worked on a community service project.
We weeded and planted for a shut-in in Trumbull. The recipient was very appreciative
of all the hard work the group dedicated to her yard. The plants are still in bloom and look beautiful.
