Missions

As Unity Hill UCC seeks to serve God faithfully, we take seriously the commission to reach out to those in need. With love and enthusiasm, we participate in a variety of special projects, and we are proud to be a "tithing church," which gives over 10% of our annual budget to various missions and social agencies.

School Supplies For Project Learn

* Unity Hill will receive donations of new school supplies to go to Project Learn of the Council of Churches of Greater Bridgeport. Items needed include: spiral notebooks, 3-ring binders, loose leaf 3-hole paper, pocket folders, glue sticks, pencils, pens, markers, colored pencils, crayons, scissors, calculators, and backpacks.

* The “Strengthen the Church” project has been successfully completed. We raised approximately $540.00 so far. The generosity of our congregation is amazing. The moneys collected will help churches less fortunate than ours. Thank you one and all and may God bless you!

Book Drive

Please visit the Book Table in Fellowship Hall. Bring a book; take a book. This is a Mission Project. For each hardback book you take, please leave $1 in the can; paperbacks are just 50 cents. Our Book Drive benefits local charities.

Mission Trips

Unity Hill has sent work teams to repair damage to homes from the 2005 hurricanes.

Golden Hill Community Suppers

In cooperation with area congregations and service groups, this project provides a nutritious hot meal to Bridgeport area persons in need.

St. Luke's/St. Paul's Food Pantry

At Unity Hill UCC, the congregatio participates in an ongoing collection of nonperishable foods, which are delivered to the food pantry to help feed the hungry.

Five for Five

Unity Hill UCC is proud to be a "Five for Five" church, as we support all five of the mission offerings of the United Church of Christ:

Neighbors In Need, which supports ministries of compassion and justice throughout the USA
One Great Hour of Sharing, which offers help to refugees, victims of natural disasters, and worldwide emergencies.
Strengthen the Church, which focuses on church vitality and new church starts.
Veterans of the Cross, which assists clergy who retired with inadequate pensions.
Our Church's Wider Mission, which supports the national UCC and its many transformational ministries.
